Barb Harrison and Rachel Miller, both of Amboy, joined CEO to discuss the very important components of succession planning. After successfully owning and operating The Last Alarm for 20 years, Barb was ready to retire and sell not only the business, but the building as well. After thoughtful consideration about who would take over, Barb began discreetly working with Rachel over the course of the 2023 year before announcing the change in ownership. Between working with lawyers, the bank, the health department, the gaming commissioner, and a slew of new tax ID’s for reporting purposes, it has been a lot of hard work and long hours for Rachel. Thank you both for discussing both the sellers and the buyers side of a well established business.
