In the middle of their Horses and Hats event preparations, West CEO class squeezed in a very important visit to Sauk Valley Bank. The team of Vanessa Wahl, Travis McBride, Andy Beswick, and Dawn Castillo gave a site tour, followed by each sharing their background and current roles at SVB. A detailed PowerPoint on business plan writing was exactly what the class needed as they move forward with their individual business ideas. Although the trade show dates of April 23 and 24 seem far away, there is much to do. Students now have in their hands resources such as Business Model Canvas from Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship, guide sheets from the Small Business Development Center and detailed slides from Sauk Valley Bank. Friday is Mentor Day, yet another helping opportunity.
