Micron, a CEO Platinum investor, was the site of Thursday's business visit. Students were greeted by the team of Norm Bates, CEO, Connie Jarrett, Manager of People and Culture, Marco Dumont, Director - Manufacturing Operations, Hammond Power Solutions, Crissy Hart, Director of People and Culture, James Grubb, Purchasing Manager, and Alesha Cardwell, Director of Finance (who also serves as a CEO mentor). Micron makes transformers which are used in HVAC, food service, gaming, and leveling systems and have the important job of taking high voltage and lowering the current. They come in all sizes with smaller ones made in the Sterling facility. Norm discussed the importance of culture; Micron's values: Selfless Hearts, Curious Minds, and Honorable Souls. He also discussed Micron's distribution channels and succession planning and acquisitions, among other things. An extensive tour by Connie took CEO students into the world of transformers that they knew very little to nothing about prior. And that's one of many things that makes CEO such an interesting class!
