It's safe to say that most CEO students didn't know about the Kitchen Incubator of NW Illinois and business incubator spaces, or the Greater Sterling Development Corporation. Heather Sotelo, GSDC, explained that their role is to help develop and retain businesses, manage land and buildings they own, and support other projects such as the riverfront development and housing issues. All important to economic growth. Krista Morthland, Kitchen Incubator Manager, gave students a tour of the commercial kitchen and discussed the 4 C's of food business success based on her 20+ years of working in the industry; commitment, customer service, consistency, and cleanliness. Pretty awesome that while visiting we saw Adrian, Bagels by Toast and Plate, hard at work!
