CEO West students met with Matt Prescott, owner of multiple businesses related to the hospitality industry. It was a perfect opportunity to pick his brain about delivering great customer service, dealing with difficult situations, and keeping your cool. Matt talked about the value of being able to sell...yourself, your product, your ideas, etc. He shared the background of the McCormick Event Center and Larry McCormick's role, gave a tour, and talked about how ambiance and product produce an experience catered to specific types of customers. He gave the class plenty to debrief on as the future of hospitality is considered. How will the industry change based on society's wants and need? What about increased costs? How to bring people to the area? Housing shortage? Need for more skilled trades, etc. So many things that are interrelated.
