We are sending a HUGE thank you to all of you for supporting our CEO trade show. The community support was overwhelming and we greatly appreciate it! After debriefing in class on Friday, West students wrote simple what-I-learned statements. Though a lengthy post, I hope you enjoy their thoughts:

I’ve learned to take things slow and stay calm. I’ve also found that things will not always be perfect on the first go. Oliva Clark
Through the trade show this week I learned about healthy competition. With my business “Nature’s Nook” there was a competition with another booth. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. Makaylee Pipes
I learned how to make mathematical predictions so I can efficiently and effectively run my business. Jimmy Wadsworth
Listen to everyone’s ideas and brainstorm because some things may help tremendously, and you would have never thought of it on your own. Nora Truedson
I love being my own boss. I like knowing everything about the product I’m selling. Brody Van Weelden
I learned that it’s okay to make mistakes. Also, CEO mentors are lifelong friendships; make sure to make the most of them! Destini Chambers
I learned that it’s okay if someone didn’t purchase my product because I still got to talk to them about my business. And…ice is heavy. Braeden Thome
You don’t have to do it by yourself for you to feel accomplished. Everything takes more time and effort than you think it will, but it’s worth it. Samantha Knox
You have to hold yourself accountable in order to grow and learn. I learned that you can’t do everything yourself. Lucas Schaab
I loved collaborating with family to make my product. Decorating my booth was very fun and taught me a lot. Olivia Schurman
You won’t sell anything unless you’re passionate about it. The excitement you have will go to the customer and they will be equally excited. Maddy Taylor-Steffens
I have never felt as accomplished and proud of myself as I do now that the trade show is over. Truly the best experience. Ana Jungerman
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Needing help is NOT a weakness, it’s a learning experience. Maliah Grenoble
I enjoyed every person that came out to see all of us. I tried my best to promote mine but also others’ businesses while talking to them. I really felt like I grew as a speaker. Josh Minor
Making estimates is not easy. My calculations were wrong, leading me to have to raise my prices. Owen Farral
I learned that I love smiling and saying hello to people. Definitely something I will do more often. I loved talking about my grandmother and have people love the cookies I’ve gotten to love my whole life. Kylee Jensen
I learned that you catch people’s attention more when you talk in a country accent! Rylan Shenefelt
I learned that there are so many people willing to support you and help you. You must have to be willing to ask. Sometimes that is hard, but it is worth it. Lili Drinkall
Through running my business I learned how to stay organized and focused. When my booth got busy I learned to manage my stress and give my customers the best experience! Avery Olinger
Absent: Olivia Purvis
