It's prom dress shopping season, so what better choice than to visit the newly opened Selmi's Formal Wear located in Northland Mall. The session was led Katy Selmi and her son Tate, a former CEO student, who was instrumental in writing the business plan for this vision. Ultimately, the goal is to provide a shopping experience unmatched by competition, making Selmi's the destination of choice. Katy talked about working with family, owning multiple businesses, and paying attention to competition. Tate talked about his marketing strategy, online sales, and creating a culture and standard of excellence. He emphasized the business plan as a living document, one he revisits and adjusts as time goes on. Not bad for a 19 year old who is heading back to his sophomore of college! It was truly a family day...topped of with Katy's daughter, MaryKay, a current CEO student.
