Amanda Wike, executive director of Discover Dixon, spent yesterday morning with the East class discussing the role of her organization and how it includes the chamber, tourism, city events, and economic development. There are many things about her role that she never anticipated she’d get the opportunity to do, including working with legislation in both Springfield and Washington DC. The students were able to learn about placer ai, which is used each year at the CEO annual trade show to gauge foot traffic that comes each night.
