For the West CEO it was a week filled with time spent working on the details of the upcoming Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and their class business, Horse and Hats, Dashing to the Derby. During this time, students enjoyed a visit from alumnus, Cailean Davids, (CEO 2019) Indiana State graduate and manager at Luxx. In addition Emma Watts, Theater Performance and Film double major senior at Augustana College and Brooklyn Reynolds, Black Hawk College grad and currently in the workforce as an Animal Care Specialist, visited Friday to critique students’ presentation for the chamber dinner. Both were CEO students in 2021. Lili Drinkall, SVCC Academy student and CEO 2024 visited with current juniors who are interested in possibly applying to that program. Also during the week Horses and Hats operations committee stopped by United Way, where Executive Director and silent auction extraordinaire Keri Olson gave pointers. Project managers made a trip to Stahr Media for filming of a CEO podcast. The marketing and finance teams upped their games, editing spreadsheets and making posts. All this, along with ticket and financial sponsor sales. Students also engaged in a team challenge which required them to negotiate and bargain for what they needed. It was a busy week with lots of moving parts...and great help from former CEO students!
